In order to support its extensive development and continue its transformation from a R&D biotech company to a fully integrated biopharmaceutical company, GENFIT is pursuing expansion in various functions.
In this environment, our Intellectual Property (IP) department is looking for a Patent Engineer to join the team, which currently consists of three senior patent practitioners, a Brand Protection and Soft IP Specialist, and an IP Paralegal.

 

 

MISSIONS :

  • To identify and to protect our innovations through filing, prosecuting, maintaining and defending patents in Genfit’s portfolio ;
  • To contribute to IP external landcaping, with a specific focus on how our competitive context is changing, especially in our areas of activity and/or interest, and communicating relevant information and risks to internal stakeholders ;
  • To perform, analyse and communicate freedom to operate studies ;
  • To comment on and improve IP language in various types of agreement, and performing relevant diligence and risk-mitigation in transactional activities ;
  • To identify patent-related business opportunities and to propose strategies for optimizing them ;
  • To propose and to manage offensive strategies against third-party patents or defend against in-coming challenges ;
  • To deliver customized training on intellectual property matters, as part of Genfit’s continuous improvement plan ;
  • To report, counsel and clearly communicate relevant information to the internal customers of the IP department with recommendations as needed.

 

PROFILE :

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry or in Biology. A PhD is a plus ;
  • You hold the Diploma of the Center for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI – Strasbourg, FR), or equivalent ;
  • You have passed the EPO European Qualification Examination, or are part qualified ;
  • You have passed a European national patent qualification, or are part qualified ;
  • You have a proven track record (4 years minimum) in a patent law firm, or within the IP organization of a pharmaceuticals company ;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including fluency in English language; French language is a plus. You are used to imparting information in a clear and concise fashion, especially in your scientific & legal areas of expertise ;
  • You are recognized for your exceptional interpersonal skills ;
