As part of our expansion and strategic pivot toward ACLF (Acute On-Chronic Liver Failure), we are looking for a Scientific and Strategic Watch and Innovation Specialist. This position reports to the Scientific Director in Translational Research Strategy and Innovation. It requires a combination of information management skills (research, identification, analysis and interpretation of scientific and strategic information), synthesis and writing skills, and cross-team communication skills.

 

MISSIONS:

1. Search, identification and collection

In liaison with all departments involved in collecting scientific information, for all scientific and/or strategic information:

  • Map out needs in line with corporate strategy;
  • Develop and/or improve ontologies for automated monitoring of media (mainstream and professional) and scientific literature; 
  • Continue to expand the list of monitored sources (new scientific and/or media sources);

2. Analyzing and interpreting information

  • Select, analyze and synthesize scientific and/or strategic information for relevant internal dissemination;
  • Propose and carry out systematic analyses, reviews and meta-analyses; 
  • Lead scientific discussions on subjects arising from the watch;
  • Anticipate, detect and propose innovative directions and/or collaborations to scientific leadership;

3. Exploiting strategic scientific data

  • Write and publish strategic scientific newsletters, based on the synthesis of collected information;
  • Prepare, update and disseminate strategic scientific reports on specific topics;
  • Organize and lead meetings to share and disseminate intelligence within multi-disciplinary teams (research, clinical, management, etc.);
  • Contribute to the scientific promotion of our activities through scientific communications/publications, in collaboration with the R&D and Communications teams;

4. Implementation of the scientific watch policy

  • Take part in in the definition of scientific and strategic monitoring procedures;
  • Formalize and ensure continuous improvement of the processes managed by this position as part of the quality management system - Implementation of KPIs.

 

PROFILE:

  • You hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in a scientific field and have had a successful experience in scientific and strategic watch activities at an R&D company (implementation of a watch system, distribution of newsletters, sharing bibliographic summaries, leading discussions on watch topics, etc.); 
  • You have professional experience in R&D for drug development (pre-clinical and clinical);
  • You have a strong capacity for analysis and synthesis, combined with the related writing skills, as well as the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a variety of audiences;
  • You know how to capture innovative and strategic information for the Company in a scientific and competitive environment;
  • You master the key aspects of project management (planning, supervision and coordination of tasks) that are useful for structuring and managing a scientific and strategic watch;
  • You know how to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various partners;
  • You have a strong ability to work cross-functionally with different departments, to manage several projects simultaneously and to ensure reporting and monitoring of associated indicators. Your dynamism will be an asset in carrying out your missions;
  • To be effective in your day-to-day work, proven qualities of organization and structuring, autonomy, rigor and teamwork are required;
  • You are fluent in English and French (C1 level minimum), with excellent written and oral communication skills.
